If i am not the same, who in the world am I ?

Hard to tell what i bumped into first. This post will introduce my photographic story about the Steampunk by my personal collision with Lewis Carroll.

All over the place in Brooklyn, following funny creatures with a genuine curiosity, feeling often too little or too big, trying to find the right keys to open the doors, I, sometimes, find myself "once more in the long hall, and close." Lots of nonsense, good and bad surprises, I am trying, like Alice, to find some logic in a curious reality. Not to mention that my subway stop is Carroll Street. And this neighborhood - Carroll Gardens- is also the place where I found what would become my photo obsession in New York : the Steampunk - fascinating victorian science-fiction subculture and community of people.

I found my way to travel in the time from Carroll to the Steampunk on the thread of the victorian taste : bouncing from reality to imagination, confusing the time perception, this in order to grasp a sense of "here and now". Hopefully.

"For, you see, so many out-of-the-way things had happened lately that I had begun to think that very few things indeed were impossible."

"It would be so nice if something made sense for a change."

"If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be."

"Read the direction and directly you will be directed in the right direction.

"But it's no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then.
If i am not the same, who in the world am I ?"

And don't you think of going to Central Park to take pictures of the Alice in Wonderland sculpture ?
